The day the teddy bears had their picnic
Although there were no woods in sight, teddy bears were out in force when Heacham Infant School held our annual school picnic.
In celebration of National Picnic Week, the children invited furry friends from home and within school to a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in the school grounds.
As well as food and drink, the youngsters and teddies enjoyed stories and activities based around all things bear.
“The school’s PTA has been celebrating many national events throughout the year,” said Claire Dack, Assistant Headteacher at Heacham Infant, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust. “As a school, we used this opportunity to embrace the good weather and get outdoors.
“The children enjoyed a picnic provided by the school or from home, sharing bear-themed stories, and going on a bear treasure hunt to find the hidden names of bears.
“This was a fantastic experience for the wider school community and created great memories for all.”
